Workplace Safety and Health Council

for the Workplace Safety and Health Awards 2020

Commemorative e-book

Ladies and Gentlemen,

1.Welcome to the WSH Awards 2020. As you can see, this year’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Awards is a unique one. Given the current Covid-19 situation, we have brought this year’s Awards online and right to your screen. Technology has indeed opened up new avenues for us to explore, allowing us to present this year’s WSH Awards in such a unique and special way.

2.The pandemic has shown us the need to be adaptable and resourceful in order to move forward during these uncertain times. We must also continue to adapt and innovate to improve the safety and health of our workers, which remains our top priority.

3.On behalf of the WSH Council, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all winners of the WSH Awards 2020. The winners have continued to go above and beyond to uphold the highest standards of WSH. They are among the best companies which have achieved outstanding WSH performance, committed individuals who have gone the extra mile to protect fellow workers, and adopted creative innovations that enhanced WSH across various industries.

4.This year, we are glad to present awards to 193 recipients who will be recognised for their WSH efforts in 2019. Join me as you will get to view some of the profiles of these outstanding companies and individuals, as hear stories of their journeys towards achieving good WSH standards throughout the rest the of this e-book.

5.But before we do that, our Minister for Manpower, Mrs Josephine Teo, has graciously taken time off her busy schedule to officiate at this Awards and say a few words. Let us now welcome our Minister for Manpower.

6.Minister, please.
