190 COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS HONOURED THROUGH COMMEMORATIVE E-BOOK AT THIS YEAR’S WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH AWARDS 2020

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council recognises a total of 190 companies and individuals for their outstanding contributions to WSH excellence at its annual WSH Awards.

2. Due to the Covid-19 situation, the Awards will be held through the launch of a commemorative e-book this year at www.wshawards.sg. The commemorative e-book compiles some of the inspiring stories of the award winners who have ensured that their workers went home safely and healthily to their loved ones in 2019. The interactive pages not only showcase videos of the recipients depicting their journey towards achieving safety and health excellence, but also 3D renderings of some of the innovation projects. Towards the end of the e-book, a virtual photobooth allows for one to snap a photo to be shared with colleagues and friends. Some profiles of the winners can be found under Annex A.

3. Chairman of the WSH Council, Mr John Ng, said “Although the pandemic has changed the way the WSH Awards is being organised this year, the WSH Council has harnessed the use of technology to continue providing recognition for those who have done well in WSH. Likewise, I would like to encourage more companies to remain resourceful in the face of this pandemic, explore new ways and leverage on technologies in promoting the adoption of good WSH practices across business communities.”

4. In a WSH Awards 2020 Presentation Ceremony held earlier this morning, Minister for Manpower, Mrs Josephine Teo and Senior Minister of State, Mr Zaqy Mohamad, presented trophies to seven Performance Awards winners from the Excellence and Gold categories respectively.
